Clear the bill

If you are not selected, you keep your advocate and we keep working your bill if you so choose. Disputing errors, appealing denials, and applying for income based discounts cost nothing upfront. You are charged only if we lower your bill, and only after you see and approve the 10% fee. Who sees your bill: Granted's team, under a standard HIPAA release, the same as any other member. We are HIPAA aligned and secured. Your district or employer does not see any of it. We do not tell your district, your principal, or your benefits office that you entered, and they do not see your bill or your income.

Granted is paying off medical bills for Texas school employees. You enter by uploading a medical bill and finishing our income based discount form. Entries open August 31, 2026 and close September 12, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central. From the complete entries, Granted selects up to 10 finalists against the criteria published on this page. Finalists send income verification and tax documents. From that group, Granted selects up to two recipients negotiates the bill down and pays the remaining balance in full, direct to the provider. This is not a sweepstakes. There is no random drawing, no purchase, and no payment of any kind. Selection is based on published criteria. Finalists do not have to pay the Granted fee.

Any bill from a Texas provider, dated within 9 months of the date of service, with a balance over $300. Dental, vision, and lab bills from Texas providers count. A few specifics: Already in collections? Still eligible. Already paid part of it? Still eligible. We work the remaining balance. No paper bill? Connect your insurance or your patient portal instead. We connect with 1,300+ plans and portals. More than one bill? You can upload as many as you like.

Six things have to be true: You live in Texas and you are 18 or older. You work for a Texas school or school district. Teachers, aides, counselors, nurses, bus drivers, cafeteria and custodial staff, campus and district office staff. Full time or part time. Your bill is dated within 9 months of the date of service. It is not a Medicaid bill, and you are not currently enrolled in Medicaid. Your income can be verified. Finalists share pay stubs or equivalent, plus tax documents. Your entry is complete, meaning both the bill and the finished form. You do not need to be a Granted member already. Entering creates your account. Granted reviews every complete entry against the criteria published on this page and selects up to 10 finalists. Finalists are contacted by email on September 14.

Two steps, about ten minutes: 1. Upload your medical bill. A photo of the paper bill works. 2. Finish the income based discount form. It asks for your household income, your family size, and where you work. Both steps have to be done. Incomplete entries are not reviewed, and we cannot review a bill without the form or a form without a bill
