What Granted is
zizzl-what-is-granted
What is Granted?
Granted is your digital health advocate for medical bills. Upload a bill or connect your insurance, and Granted's health advocates review every charge, look for ways to lower what you owe, and handle the follow-through with the provider and your insurer. Human health advocates work your case; technology helps them find opportunities and keep track of what needs attention.
zizzl-why-is-zizzl-offering-this
Why is Zizzl offering this?
Medical bills are confusing and often wrong. Zizzl added Granted to your benefits so you have someone on your side when a bill shows up. It is part of your Smart Spend Zizzl Health benefits.
zizzl-does-it-cost-me-anything
Does it cost me anything?
Granted is included in your Smart Spend Zizzl Health benefits. There is no fee to sign up, send a bill, start a case, or get matched with a dedicated health advocate. You only pay if we successfully lower a bill: 10% of your savings, capped at $300. For example, if our team saves you $1,000 on your medical bill, the Granted fee is $100.
zizzl-is-granted-part-of-my-health-insurance
Is Granted part of my health insurance?
No. Granted is separate from your health plan and does not change your coverage. It helps you with the bills and questions that come from using your coverage.
Who can use it
zizzl-who-is-eligible
Who is eligible?
Anyone enrolled through Zizzl, plus their family members. This includes employees on a Zizzl ICHRA plan with any insurer, employees who waived Zizzl coverage, and employees without insurance.
zizzl-do-i-need-to-be-insured-through-zizzl-to-use-granted
Do I need to be insured through Zizzl to use Granted?
No. If your employer offers benefits through Zizzl, you can use Granted even if your health insurance comes from somewhere else or you have no insurance.
zizzl-can-my-spouse-or-kids-use-it
Can my spouse or kids use it?
Yes. Granted can help with bills for anyone in your household. Each adult can create their own account, or you can send a family member's bill from yours.
zizzl-how-do-i-sign-up
How do I sign up?
Use the Granted link in your Zizzl portal, open enrollment materials, or emails. It takes about two minutes. Signing up through that link is what connects your account to your Zizzl benefit, so please use it rather than searching for Granted on your own.
After you send a bill
zizzl-what-should-i-send
What should I send?
A photo or PDF of any medical bill: hospital, ER, lab, imaging, specialist, or a bill for a family member. Bills that are past due or in collections are fine too. If you have the explanation of benefits from your insurer, send that as well, but it is not required.
zizzl-what-does-granted-do-with-it
What does Granted do with it?
Your health advocate checks every charge for errors such as duplicate items, services you did not receive, and amounts your insurance should have covered. Then they look for ways to lower the balance, including negotiating with the provider and checking whether you qualify for income-based discounts in your area. They handle the calls and paperwork and keep you updated.
zizzl-how-long-does-it-take
How long does it take?
You will hear from your health advocate within a few business days with what they found and what happens next. Providers and insurers set the pace after that; some cases close in a couple of weeks, others take longer. You stay informed the whole way.
zizzl-should-i-pay-the-bill-while-granted-reviews-it
Should I pay the bill while Granted reviews it?
Send it to Granted before you pay. Paying first makes errors harder to fix. Your health advocate will tell you if there is a deadline you need to watch.
zizzl-does-granted-guarantee-my-bill-goes-down
Does Granted guarantee my bill goes down?
No. Granted looks for every opportunity to lower what you owe, and when a bill is lowered the average reduction is 74%. Some bills are correct and cannot be reduced; if that is the case, your health advocate will tell you plainly.
Your health advocate
zizzl-is-my-health-advocate-a-real-person
Is my health advocate a real person?
Yes. A human health advocate works your case. Technology helps them review bills and track what needs attention, but a person is responsible for your case and the decisions in it.
zizzl-what-can-i-ask-them
What can I ask them?
Anything about a medical bill or your coverage: what you owe and why, whether a claim was processed correctly, what a term on your bill means, whether a discount program could apply to you, or what to do next.
zizzl-can-my-health-advocate-answer-questions-about-my-zizzl-plan-or-allowance
Can my health advocate answer questions about my Zizzl plan or allowance?
Questions about your Zizzl allowance, plan choice, enrollment, or reimbursements go to Zizzl support. Granted can help with what your insurance covered or did not cover on a specific bill or claim.
zizzl-how-do-i-reach-my-health-advocate
How do I reach my health advocate?
Through the Granted app or website once you have an account. Messages go to your case, and your health advocate replies there.
Connecting insurance
zizzl-why-connect-my-insurance
Why connect my insurance?
The more of your healthcare Granted can see, the more it can do for you. With your insurance connected, Granted can see claims as they come through, spot overcharges earlier, answer coverage questions with your actual plan in front of them, and ask you for less information every time.
zizzl-is-connecting-my-insurance-required
Is connecting my insurance required?
No. You can use Granted with just a bill. Connecting your insurance is optional and you can do it later.
zizzl-what-if-my-insurer-is-not-supported-yet
What if my insurer is not supported yet?
Send your bill anyway. Your health advocate can work the case without a connection, and you can connect later if support is added.
Privacy
zizzl-is-my-information-safe
Is my information safe?
Your information is protected. Granted uses it to work on your bills and claims, and never sells your data.
zizzl-does-zizzl-or-my-employer-see-my-bills
Does Zizzl or my employer see my bills?
No. Your bills, claims, and case details stay between you and Granted. Zizzl sees overall program results, not individual cases.
zizzl-can-i-delete-my-account
Can I delete my account?
Yes, at any time from your account settings or by asking your health advocate.
