Setting Your Negotiation and Payment Preferences in Granted

Setting Your Negotiation and Payment Preferences in Granted

What is the "Set up your negotiation" step?

Before an advocate starts working your case, you set your preferences and add a payment method in one short screen. This tells your advocate how you want them to negotiate and how you want to handle payment if they win. We only charge if we save you money.

How the fee is shown

At the top, you see how the fee works: we take a 10% cut of what we save you, capped at $100 through your FFGA benefit, and we only get paid if we win. The screen shows a worked example. On a $1,000 bill negotiated down to $600, the fee is 10% of the $400 saved, so $40. You pay $640 total and keep $360 of the savings. If we can't lower your bill, you pay $0.

Can your advocate pay on the spot?

You pick one of two ways to handle payment:

  • Yes, pay for me. Once your advocate secures a discount, we pay the provider directly and charge your card, within the limit you set. Paying right away often secures a larger reduction.

  • No, negotiation only. You pay the provider yourself after we negotiate. Our fee still applies if we lower your bill.

Do you see this provider often?

A toggle. Turn it on if you visit this provider regularly and want us to negotiate more gently to protect the relationship. It tells your advocate how hard to push.

Anything else for your advocate?

A free-text box for context that helps your case: your financial situation, insurance details, deadlines, or anything else relevant.

Payment method

You add the card we would use if we win. It is only charged if we save you money. If you have an FFGA promo code, enter it at "Have a promo code?" Then you tap Confirm Preferences. No savings, no charge.

Setting your limit (only if you chose "Yes, pay for me")

If you asked us to pay on the spot, you set a spending limit next: the most you could pay in a single lump sum if we win a discount. We pay your new, lower bill, fee included, with one charge to your card, up to that limit. The screen shows the amount you authorize and how likely a deal is at that level. If a deal would go over your limit, we ask you before charging anything.

FAQ

Am I charged when I confirm? No. Confirming saves your preferences and your card. We only charge if we lower your bill, and only within the limit you set.

What does "pay on the spot" actually do? It lets your advocate close a discount immediately by paying the provider, which often secures a bigger reduction. You set the ceiling.

Pricing in one line: free to use. You only pay 10% of what we save you, capped at $100 per bill.
